Special CM Relief Fund soon to address rain victims’ miseries

KARACHI: A special “Sindh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund” will be established, provincial legislators and government employees will make contributions from their salaries for the rain-affected people.
This was decided in a meeting here Friday chaired by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali at CM House to review the relief measures for relief and rehabilitation of calamity hit areas of the province.
The Chief Minister announced that the Fund’s PLS account  No. 6720-5 will be maintained at National Bank of Pakistan, Sindh Secretariat Branch, Karachi.
All the government employees of Sindh including district government in the province of Sindh from BPS-16 and above will contribute their one day’s salary to the Relief Fund and all provincial ministers, advisors  will contribute one month’s salary while MNAs of Sindh, MPAs of Sindh Assembly will contribute 7-days’ salary for CM Relief Fund.
It was also decided that NGOs and other social welfare organisations of the province will be motivated to organise ‘relief camps’ in various localities for collection of relief goods.
On this occasion, the Secretary Health informed the meeting that medicines worth Rs 30.7 million have been procured and distributed in all affected districts.
It was also decided that necessary steps will be taken to prevent spread of malaria, dengue virus and other water-borne diseases.
