PPP asks Sindh Governor to reconsider his decision to resign

Islamabad: With reference to media reports that the Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has tendered resignation Farhatullah Babar Spokesperson of the Co-Chairman PPP President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the PPP will continue pursuing the policies of reconciliation in the interest of political stability and will urge the Governor to reconsider his decision to resign from the office of Governor.

Responding to media queries the Spokesperson said that the President is in UK on visit and the reported resignation of the Governor had not yet been received in the office. Farhatullah Babar also said that the issues facing the country and particularly the Sindh province were too many and complex and called for strengthening, instead of weakening, the on going policy of reconciliation with all political forces in the country.

The Spokesperson expressed the hope that the Sindh Governor will reconsider the decision to resign in the larger interest political stability in the country, the welfare of the people of the province and continue to strengthen the reconciliation.

Meanwhile sources informed Pakistan Times that Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan is leaving for London to discuss with Leader of MQM Altaf Hussain recent decision to resign from Federal cabinet. Moreover President Asif Ali Zardari is already present in London. -Online
