Wagah: Pakistani and Indian officials have agreed to open new joint trade route at the Wagah border, officials said on Monday. This was decided at a meeting between trade delegations of two countries was concluded at Wagah border in which both sides decided to conduct future trade through new entry point.
It was stated in the meeting that the new trade route was being opened because trade at the border of Wagah is affected due to the parade and other reasons. With the establishment of the new trade route, the current Wagah border would be solely used for parades and the entry and exit of delegations while Pak-Indo friendship bus service would also be use this route.
Pakistani side was represented by Joint Secretary Interior, Shabbir Ahmer, while Joint Secretary Interior, K.K. Mittal led Indian delegation. -Online
