RAWALPINDI: Recently arrested PIA air hostess and her air steward husband over heroin smuggling, have disclosed that nephew of federal minister Najamuddin Khan had given them drugs and suitcase full of clothes. Air-hostess Aneela and her flight steward husband Idrees Khan also made the startling disclosure in the court of judicial magistrate on Friday, that besides this supply of drugs and clothes by federal minister’s nephew Rahmat Khan, many other employees of PIA were equally and rampantly involved in this kind of crime.
The investigation officer of ANF (anti narcotic force), Shakeel Chaudhry informed the court on the occasion, that the accused had already successfully delivered the consignments five times earlier.
Replying to court’s query regarding the involvement of any ministers in the nefarious smuggling, the investigation officer informed that the names had already been forwarded to higher authorities. The court was chagrined over the failure to be informed about the names of involved ministers, which according to it was only a matter of five minutes.
Afterwards the accused airhostess Aneela was sent to central jail of Adayala over a judicial remand, while her air steward husband Idrees Khan was sentenced to a 3-day physical remand.
It is pertinent to note that that the PIA airhostess Aneela and her flight steward husband Idrees Khan had been arrested from Islamabad airport at late night, after 400 kg heroin was discovered from a suitcase carried by the couple. Flight steward Idrees Khan hails from Malakand, and both had married two and a half years ago.
Besides accepting a 3-day remand of Idrees Khan, the court has also ordered his medical checkup. Meanwhile ANF (anti narcotics force) has expressed its doubts over possible involvement of its personnel in smuggling as well, disclosures of which could be forced from Idrees Khan , besides the other ASF (airport security force) sources.-Online
