President Zardari extends hand of peace to Nawaz: stresses on moving forward

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday again made it clear that it is need of the hour that all political forces must respect each others mandate and forget past mistakes to move forward for the national interests of the country. A delegation of PML (N) led by Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Thursday called on President Asif Ali Zardari at the Aiwan-e-Sadr to offer their condolences to the President over the death of his father.

Other members of the delegation included Raja Muhammad Zafar ul Haq, Makdoom Javed Hashmi, Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Mr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Mr Justice (R) Syed Ghous Ali Shah, Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasir, Chaudhry Sharif, MR Shakeel Ahmad and Dr Asif Karmani.

Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Minister for Trade & Commerce, Senator Rehman Malik, Interior Minister, Senator Dr Asim Hussain, Minister for Petroleum & Natural Resources, Senator Dr Babar Awan, Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, Mr. Qamar Zaman Kaira, Raja Parvez Ashraf, Mr. Imtiaz Safdar Waraich and Spokesperson to the President Mr. Farhatullah Babar were also present.

According to sources, President said that government has always supported the reconciliation process and taken all political parties on-board on all national issues as the politics of confrontation does not serve the interest of country. We must move forward and bury the past for the national interests of the country, he said.

Both Nawaz and President exchange personal concerns on promises not fulfilled from both sides however Nawaz Sharif said that that he has especially come here for the purpose of condolence of his father stressing time is not right for political chaos, sources added. They offered fateha for the departed soul and prayed to Allah for granting eternal peace to the departed soul. -Online
