46th Int’l Mango, Summer fruit festival opened in Mirpurkhas

MIRPURKHAS: A three-day long 46th International Mangoes and Summer Fruit Festival opened here today at Shaheed Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto mango exhibition hall. Sindh Agriculture Minister Syed Ali Nawaz Shah inaugurated the exhibition. District administrator and president Mango festival committee Mirpurkhas, Hundreds of growers of other summer fruits were also present on this occasion.

The minister said that present government has assigned top priority to mangoes export. He said that more than 100 official and registered varies of Mirpurkhas were famous in International Market. Sindh minister said that he was trying to establish mango processing, packing zone in Mirpurkhas, which will be established here before the next mango festival.

Over 400 mango stalls have been set up in the mango exhibition hall, including owner of Famous mango orchards, Kachelo farm, Bugio farm, Junejo farm, Lashari farm, Nawazabad farm. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will be the chief guest at concluding ceremony and will distribute the cash prizes and shields among the winner mangoes orchards owners.

This exhibition is part of Cultural and Agriculture mela, part of Six days long International event of 46th Mangoes and Summer fruit mega festival started on May 30, 2011.
