ISLAMABAD: The Secretary General of JUI (F), senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri has demanded to hold an All Parties (APC) Conference over the issue of Parliamentary resolutions regarding drone attacks and Pakistan’s sovereignty. Talking to media outside Parliament House, he said that for the first time in history of Pakistan, even the Armed Forces leadership had demanded a review over Pak-American relations, and announced that the JUI would support PM’s endeavors to restructure Pak-American relations.
Referring to nomination of opposition leader in the Senate, he informed that Senate had been asked regarding the position of PML-Q votes, since half of that party is in opposition, while the other half is in the government; while criticizing PML-N’s suggestion of twenty four candidates, as “JUI can nominate 45 such names”.
He also clarified that Constitution did not cater for any post of deputy opposition leader, and said that a commission would be formed for reviewing the strategy and policy for war against terrorism, adding “PM should summon an APC over nominations for this commission, so that names put forth by all political parties should come forth”.
Replying to a question, he informed that PM had not asked for any recommendations regarding the budget for FY-2012, for which he was disappointed. Referring to the commission formed to probe the American incursion in Abbottabad, he said that any high-ranking entity found guilty of lapses should be penalized.-Online
