Handful of terrorists cannot destabilize country, vows Gilani

KARACHI: Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday again made it clear that the terrorists by creating uncertainty and chaos in the country want to harm the national security and destabilize the country. During a quick chat with host of journalists at the PNS Mehran, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the attack on PNS Mehran Navy Base, Karachi.

He underlined that that the terrorists by creating uncertainty and chaos, want to harm the national security and destabilize the country. But, they (terrorists) will not succeed in their nefarious designs, he added. He termed the attack a cowardly act and vowed to bring the culprits to the justice as early as possible. Our Jawans are making Pakistan proud, he said.

He inquired the health of the injured persons at the PNS Shifa and later proceeded to Nawabshah. On May 22 a 17 hours siege of PNS Mehran base in Karachi, four attackers were killed, 2 fled while 10 security personnel martyred and 15 others injured while Pakistan regained control of a naval base. It was the worst assault on a navel base since the GHQ was besieged in October 2009, putting further embarrassment on the armed forces three weeks after Osama bin Laden was found living under their noses.
