ISLAMABAD: PML-N Information Secretary Ahsan Iqbal has threatened to stage long march against the government if the 10-point agenda is not implemented. Addressing a press conference at PML-N Secretariat, Ahsan Iqbal clarified that the 10-point agenda was not a personal but national agenda and the government itself had appreciated it.
He went on to say that National Assembly Speaker was backing Sindh Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza for issuing statements and termed the PPP statements as attack on country’s integrity. He said that the PML-N could response in same manner if Zulfiqar Mirza did not stop giving threats. The PML-N is not one-man party and not a toy and we had always accepted the PPP role, the PML-N Spokesperson added.
He went on to say that the PPP had become party of one province in 1997 elections and added that the increase in political temperature was giving impression to the masses about confrontation among political parties. Ahsan Iqbal made it clear that the PML-N did not believe in horse-trading and noted that 2008 elections was not transparent as the PML-N leadership was prevented from returning to the country.
We are facing failed government and the NRO beneficiary rulers had tried to protect November 3 measures of former President Pervez Musharraf but the PML-N foiled this, the PML-M leader underlined. He said that the prevailing situation in the country is a result of wrong policies of the government and added that the PPP could not arrest the assassins of Benazir Bhutto.
To a question, Ahsan Iqbal pointed out that the PML-N did not lay foundation of unification bloc but it was set up during governor rule in Punjab and added that they wanted change of the government under constitution and democratic way.-ONLINE
