ISLAMABAD: Federal Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Babar Awan claimed in future we will not allow any dictator to derail democracy whereby the stability of institutions is concealed. He expressed these thoughts during his meeting with delegation of female lawyers of Supreme Court and Islamabad District Bars Associations here in Islamabad on Friday.
“Democracy has always encouraged the freedom of expression contrary to fact that it has always been suppressed in dictatorships”, Babar Awan said. During the course of meeting, he stressed on coherence among institutions and said country may only continue its journey towards welfare and progress if it is ensured. He also stressed on the need to promote tolerance in society.
Law minister also handed over Rs. 60 millions check to Secretary Supreme Court Bar, Qamar Zaman Qureshi for the welfare of female lawyers. He pledged that 40 percent presence of female lawyers will be ensured in different local commissions whereas chambers to junior female lawyers will also be allotted.-ONLINE
