Swati dismissal: Govt not ready to tolerate honest in ranks

Islamabad: The Pakistan Society Watch (PSW) on Thursday said that dismissal of Muhammad Azam Khan Swati, Federal Minister for Science and Technology has sent a message that honest would not be tolerated in the government. Removal of Swati is unfortunate will bring the credibility and rating of government down while the decision of Maulana Fazlur Rahman to quit coalition will boost acceptability of the JUI-F.

Government’s move also proves that corruption will continue unabated and demands to introduce transparency would continue to fall on deaf ears, said Dr. Murtaza Mughal, President PSW. He said that removal of Religious Affairs Minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi was a right step but it will not bring any benefit to the ruling party.

Dr. Murtaza Mughal said that a review by JUI-F might help it to loose whatever backing it enjoys. He warned that any move to support PPP will result in split in the already divided PML-Q and asked ANP to abandon looking after interests of US. They should now act as an agents of Pakistan, he added.

He said that Chief of PML-N should stop dreaming about caging Musharraf in Attock Fort and don something for Pakistan.
Dr. Mughal said that it is unfortunate that majority of PPP leaders can be seen defending corruption at every forum which has dented its popularity beyond repair. He said that Swati is no more a minister but a hero.
