Karachi shootings death toll rises to 26

KARACHI: At least four persons were killed in firing incidents in Punjab Colony and Orangi Town areas in Karachi on Sunday, as the death toll in ongoing spate of killings in the city has soared to 26. The gunmen opened fire at a mini bus at Bab-e-Khyber Chowk this morning killing two persons and injuring four others. In another incident of firing at Hazara Chowk a young man was killed.

In Punjab Colony armed men pumped bullets at a Mazda vehicle killing the driver on the spot. Moreover, three dead bodies found from Kalri and Kalakot areas of Lyari and another body found at Keamari Gate-1. In Kharadar area a man was shot dead, while five persons were killed in shooting incidents in Baldia Town.

Earlier, three persons were injured in a shooting incident, one of which succumbed to his injuries. Three others were killed in firing in Dhobi Ghat area of Garden police station. A motor cycle rider was killed in firing at Qasba More, while motor cyclist gunmen injured two persons near Ghas Mandi including a child. The gunmen also shot dead two people in Maskin Chowrangi and Katti Pahari areas.
