ISLAMABAD: Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi, Vice-Chancellor, Allama Iqbal Open University said that foundation of the message of Allah is “Iqra” mean Education and with the reference of this message our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) declared clearly that receiving education is essential for men and women equally.
He was addressing as a Chief Guest to the inaugural function of “ICT training programme for more than forty thousands tutors across the country” which started by Allama Iqbal Open University with the collaboration of Intel Education Initiative Pakistan.
Dr. Sangi said that today is unremarkable day in the history of University because they have initiated to trained tutors with computer and information communication which will not only enriching their students but tutors and teachers will easily access to educational treasuries across the country.
On the occasion, Director Quality Enhancement Cell, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Daud Awan said that Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi has vast experience in the field of distance education that is why now a days mailing of books completes within few weeks instead of three to four months. As well as information about admissions, exams and results are provided to students in all 36 Regional campuses around the country.
Ali Asghar Hasnain, Director Regional Services said basic plan of the training is to prepare Master trainers who will give training to tutors at regional and districts level. In the first batch, 50 tutors of Islamabad Region would be trained.
Appreciating the role of Allama Iqbal Open University in spreading quality education throughout the country, Representative of Intel Education Initiative Pakistan, Basgha Iftikhar said that educational system of the Allama Iqbal Open University is unique, strong and so effective and Intel is providing assistance for uplifting education and help would also be continued with AIOU.
Prof. Munawar Hussain Salhri said that AIOU was progressing exemplary with each passing day under the auspicious supervision of Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi.-SANA
