Tense situation makes people psychological patients: Iftikhar

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Public Relations and Inter-Provincial Coordination, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that in the present tense situation where the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have become psychological patients due to bomb blasts, waves of militancy and devastating floods, the holding of recreational activities and creating occasions for bringing smile on the faces of the people is really an appreciable act.

He hoped that more such programs aimed at amusing the people and get them rid of the fearful situation would be held in future as well. He expressed these views while addressing the participants of a Mazahia Mushaira as chief guest organized by Academy for Rural Development, Peshawar on the eve of its Golden Jubilee celebration.

Provincial Culture Minister Syed Aqil Shah on the occasion highlighted cultural activities in detail. Besides poets, writers, senator Farah Aqil Shah, Secretary Information & Public Relations, Azmat Hanif Orakzai and Director General Academy, Niamatullah Abid were also present on the occasion.

Anwar Masood, Prof. Taaha Khan, Syed Suleman Gillani, Zahid Fakhri, Dr. Saeed Iqbal Saadi, Mian Iqbal Akhtar, Bushra Farah, Rani Bano, Saleem Akhtar, Saadullah Jan Berq, Dr. Inam ul Haq Javed, Khalid Masood, Zafar Khan Zafar, Sajid Sarhadi, Sarfaraz Shahid, Dad Muhammad Dilsoz and Sajjad Babar through their humorous poetry enthralled the audience.

Mian Iftikhar Hussain said, if he had one dozen children, he would not have hesitated to sacrifice them for the cause of the country. He said, he was ready to pardon the blood of his lonely son if the militants accepted the writ of government and laid down arms. He said, for flourishing good norms in a society, provision of justice to every member of the society was indispensable. He said, the government as well as each section of the society should fulfill their obligations in providing equal and just opportunities of development to every individual of the society.-SANA
