Higher Education Commission approves IIUI Data Project

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has approved a research project, “Autonomic Workload Manager for Data Warehouse” of Department of computer science, International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) of amount Rs.4.48 million under National Research Programme of University (NRPU) in 2010.

The research project was submitted by Professor Dr. Muhammad Sher, Chairman Department of Computer Science IIUI. Mr. Basit Raza and Mr. Abdul Mateen, PhD Computer Science students are working on this project. The grant will be spent on the development of research infrastructure at IIUI and salaries for researchers and developers.

The objective of Autonomic Workload Manager (AWM) is to manage the workload of data warehouse in an efficient and responsive way. This project will be helpful in research and provide learning opportunities to MS and PhD Computer Science students of IIUI. This project will also be helpful for boosting the research and technology in the area of computer science in Pakistan. The duration of this research project is two years.-SANA
