LAHORE: Federal Law Minister Babar Awan has expressed dismay that every move by Centre is challenged by the throne of Lahore (PML-N). Talking to media here on Sunday, the Minister flanked by ex-additional director general of FIA Ahmed Riaz Sheikh and his wife, said the consultation meant to discuss and not to take orders.
“We never objected the appointment of a single councilor by the PML-N”, he said. Citing Nawaz Sharif’s remarks about Justice (r) Deedar Hussain, Babar said that once the former, while being in prison, termed the latter as savior.
“What about Saif-ur-Rehman? Should we appoint him as NAB chief?” he asked. He underlined that he was waiting for the throne of Lahore to book the cops who assailed Aiwan-e-Adl.
To a query regarding the warning of organizing another long march by Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, he quipped that earlier Nawaz Sharif held a Prado march; would he hold the next one on a helicopter?-SANA
