ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court asked the Ministry of Water and Energy to present records of Rental Power Project agreements on Thursday. The three-member bench of Apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry heard the suo motto case against the alleged corruption in Rental Power Projects.
During the proceeding, the petitioner former Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayat said that the projects benefited two persons, upon which Justice Ghulam Rabbani asked him to disclose names of beneficiaries.
Faisal Saleh Hayat told the court that up to $400 million of kickbacks are involved in the said projects. The Supreme Court, concluding the hearing, directed the Ministry of Water and Energy to present detailed records of Rental Power Projects including drafts of agreements.-SANA
