ISLAMABAD: Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan pointed out that the House passed the Sacked Employees Bill for their reinstatement on Wednesday night in violation of the understanding which reached with the opposition. He termed it a highly touchy Bill, which violated Articles 4, 25, 175 and 212 of the constitution and judgments of the courts. He announced that the PML-N would completely boycott the ongoing session and consider options for the next session.

Responding over the Bill Federal Minister Syed Khurshid Shah said that the Bill was cleared unanimously by the Standing Committee and the opposition did not submit amendments. He called it a great victory for the government. He maintained that the Bill was aimed to provide relief to the victimized employees and it would benefit nine thousand families. He appealed to the opposition to sit along with the treasury benches to resolve the matter.

Zahid Haamid of PML-N has of the viewed that they were not opposing provision of relief if injustice was done to someone but the opposition has conceptual objection to the Bill which violate the constitution and fundamental principles of the independence of judiciary.

He said through the Bill the government was creating a distinct category that it will benefit only those employees which sacked during a particular period. He said the opposition wanted that the Bill should be revised and reformulate.-SANA
