SRINAGAR: Occupied Kashmir police produced 14 boys from Soura before the court for seeking their remand while the Srinagar Court granted bail to a class 12 student for allowing him to appear in the examinations. Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar granted bail to Haris Kawaoosa, a class 12 student hailing from Nowhatta as he has to appear in the examination.
“Haris along with three other boys was arrested by police three days back from Nowhatta area. Though he was granted bail on the ground that he needs to appear in the annual examinations, however, other three boys are still in police custody”, Advocate Bashir Siddiq, the counsel of Haris told reporters.
He said police also produced 14 boys between the age group of 14- 21 years in the lower court for seeking their remand. The boys have been identified as Mohammad Yousuf, Ishfaq Ahmad, Aamir Syed Rather, Firdous Ahmad Mir, Wasim Ahmad Bhatt, Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, Umar Gulzaar, Sameer Syed Rather, Hilal Ahmad Wani,Majid Ahmad Sofi, Firdous Ahmad Beg and faizan Ahmad.
“Though the boys have been arrested by Soura Police on September 30 but police brought them before the Magistrate today. It fully indicates that they have been in illegal custody since their arrest,” he said.
Advocate Bashir, Rafiq Joo and Shafqat Mir, who pleaded the cases of the arrested boys, said many of the arrested are minors.
“Among the arrested boys is 14-year-old Faizaan Ahmad, an 8th class student,” Advocate Bashir said, adding, “Many boys arrested for stone pelting do manage to get bails but it has been observed that police then implicates them in other false and frivolous cases thus delaying their release”.-SANA
