ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif Thursday said having a photograph with the Army Chief will not be enough for saving the government; it would have to go through a process of self-rectification to be able to survive for the next two-and-half years. Talking to media after a press conference here, Nawaz Sharif said the government should get busy bringing necessary reforms without wasting another minute.
“What good is the government that has to get a photo with the Army Chief for its survival and to show it to others later on?” he asked, adding the government should not have chosen to come down to a level where it had to take support of a photograph.
To a question, the PML-N Chief reiterated that he is not against the system, saying he is only against the course that the government has chosen to take. “The system must prevail and any kind of change should come from within it, no change should come from outside,” he remarked. He said criticism of the ways and means adopted by the government must not be construed as criticism against the democratic set up.-SANA
