PESHAWAR: As many as four suspected militants killed on Tuesday when a US drone fired a missile. As per details, the local security officials said the drone destroyed a rebel compound in Zeba village close to the Afghan border and west of Wana, the main town in South Waziristan.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistani officials say unmanned US aircraft have significantly stepped up attacks on Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked operatives in the semi-autonomous region this month, recording at least 21 attacks in September. “A US drone fired two missiles which hit a suspected militant compound, killing four militants,” a private television channel cited Pakistani security official. -SANA
