ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that government seriously tackled the petroleum shortage. Responding to a call attention notice, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani acknowledged that there was petrol shortage in Punjab and he directed the Petroleum Minister to overcome the problem. He said the petrol shortage occurred in the entire Punjab and was not restricted to southern part of the province.
The Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said petrol shortage occurred in Punjab for a few days because of closure of a refinery due to floods. He said gas supply was also affected due to closure of inundated gas fields in Sindh putting pressure on petrol. The Minister however said the problem is now over and there was no shortage of petrol anywhere. The call attention notice was moved by Khawaja Sheraz Mehmood and others. NNI
