FAISALABAD: Federal Minister for Textile Industry, Rana Muhammad Farooq Saeed Khan has said that new textile policy would be finalized in consultation with all stakeholders. Talking to the office bearers of Power Loom Owners Association (PLOA) at Circuit House here Monday, he said that textile was the backbone of national economy which is earning precious foreign exchange in addition to providing jobs to millions of unemployed youth.
He said that government was working for the development of textile industry on modern scientific lines. In this connection, a comprehensive textile policy is being formulated to redress its problems.
He said that the government was consulting all stakeholders to make a result?oriented policy. It would be approved very soon, he hoped and said that it would also solve the major problems being confronted by the textile industry.
He directed Sui gas officials to provide gas to the industrial sector on top priority basis as it was imperative to enhance the industrial production. He also assured to resolve other problems confronted by the power loom and sizing industry without any further delay.
The minister also chaired a meeting of local officials and directed immediate completion of under construction dual carriageway between Faisalabad?Sammundri. He said that public welfare projects should also be completed on top priority basis as there was no paucity of funds.-APP
