FBR directed to meet revenue collection targets

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has assured all out support to the Pakistani Canadian nationals who intend to invest in Pakistan in numerous fields. Talking to a delegation of the National Congress of Pakistani Canadians who called on him led by its Chairman, Syed Waqar Gilani at the Prime Minister’s House, Gilani said that overseas Pakistanis had major contribution in strengthening the county economy.

The delegation discussed with the Prime Minister the problems being faced by the Pakistani community residing in Canada and requested the Prime Minister to facilitate the Pakistani Canadian investors in Pakistan. The delegation also congratulated the Prime Minister on the restoration of deposed judges.

Later on, talking to Chairman Federal Board of Revenue, Ahmed Waqar who called on Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani at the PM’s House, he directed the FBR to ensure that revenue collection targets for the year are met and the reform process be carried forward to increase revenue collection. He briefed the Prime Minister about the revenue performance of FBR and on the process of tax reforms.-SANA
