LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Qazi Hussian Ahmed has said that his party would hold long march and sit-in at Constitutional Avenue in each case. Talking to media men here on Thursday, he said that the government was itself adopting the way of clash; however, he said that participants of the long march were directed to be peaceful. He demanded of the government to restore the deposed judiciary and termed former President Pervaiz Musharraf’s step taken on November 3rd as unconstitutional because it was the duty of it being a democratic government.
He said that the government had launched crack down against JI workers, the lawyers and the political workers which was extremely condemnable act; however, he vowed that the long march and sit-in would be held in each case despite of the crack down. He said that along with the disqualification Sharif brothers, the core issue was restoration of the deposed judiciary and in this regard no stone would be left unturned. He asked Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to issue an executive order for restoration of the deposed judiciary to end the political and judicial crisis in the country.
While Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Ali Ahmed Kurd on Thursday said that millions of people would reach Islamabad for sit-in despite of arrest of the political workers and the lawyers. Talking to a private TV channel here, he said that he loved peace; so, the long march would be peaceful and no damage would be done to the either the private or the public property. Kurd demanded of the government to release the imprisoned participants of the long march.
He asked the government to let the lawyers and the political workers to hold the march peacefully as no force could stop the long march. He demanded of the government to restore deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry before March 16 as it was voice of the nation.-SANA
