ISLAMABAD, March 4 (SANA): PML-N Quaid and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that he held talks with ANP President Asfandyar Wali Khan and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman on current political scenario and has conveyed his “concerns” to the two visiting leaders.
Nawaz was addressing a brief press conference after holding talks with the two leaders who called on him here Wednesday in connection to their efforts of mediating between Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in wake of Supreme Court’s verdict against Sharifs.
Nawaz said that he discussed current political scenario of the country with Asfandyar and Fazalur Rehman but maintained that “no final discussions were held.” President Awami National Party (ANP) Asfandyar Wali Khan said that the political disputes are decided in the fields instead of in courts. He said that his visit was aimed at reconciliation among political forces of the country, adding that “we are returning with hopes.”
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman said that the differences used to be occurred in politics and be resolved via dialogue. He said he sees a “ray of hope” after today’s talk with Nawaz Sharif. The three leaders briefly addressed the press briefing after their meeting that lasted more than two-hour and avoid taking questions by the journalists.-SANA
