LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (N) Quaid Nawaz Sharif has said the national agenda not being implemented due to personal agenda. The former prime minister was addressing a joint news conference with Jamat Islami Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmed after a meeting on Monday in which both sides agreed for active participation in the lawyers’ long march and sit-in.
JI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed in the news conference urged for restoration of November 2 judiciary. Qazi said the two parties have joined hands for enforcement of Islamic system and restoration of judiciary.
Nawaz Sharif said the struggle for restoration of the constitution has been continued since 1999 and Peoples Party had also vowed for cancellation of LFO and establishment of free judiciary. He said due to personal agenda of Zardari the national agenda is not being implemented.
Nawaz also criticized the mobile courts ordinance and claimed that the law has nothing to do with the justice but it has been promulgated to stop the long march. Earlier, Nawaz Sharif reached Jamat headquarters at Mansoora at the head of five-member party delegation on invitation of JI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed.
The two sides agreed in the meeting to participate in the lawyers’ long march. PML-N leaders Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, Pervez Rafique and JI leader Liaquat Baloch were also present in the meeting.-SANA
