Four killed in Pishin suicide attack

PISHIN: A suicide attack occurred in a madarsa at Kali Karbala area of Pishin here Monday killed at least four people and wounded seven others. According to TV channel report, Moulana Muhammad Khan Sherani, provincial chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazalur Rehman, miraculously escaped from the blast as an 18-year-old bomber wearing a jacket tried to get close to him after he concluded his speech in a ceremony held in seminary. The man blew himself up when barred from reaching to Sherani. Humnas limbs were scattered at the scene after the blast.

President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned the suicide blast at a Madrassa for girls at Pishin in Balochistan province on Monday. The President in a message expressed his grief and shock over the loss of lives and injuries caused by the tragic happening. He reiterated that such cowardly acts would not dent the government’s resolve to fight terrorism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations.

The President directed the provincial government to take all measures to reach the culprits behind this terrorist act and take them to task. He also asked the provincial government to ensure the provision of best medical care to the injured. He conveyed his condolences to the family members of the victims. The President prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families.
