ISLAMABAD: Total 44 candidates submitted their nomination papers for 50 Senate seats in the election commission’s federal and four provinces offices on Thursday here. According to the election commission sources, the five candidates submitted their nomination papers in Punjab, three in Sindh, seven in NWFP, 20 in Blochistan and nine in FATA respectively. However, not even a single candidate submitted nomination paper the on Thursday day for the two seats of Islamabad.
The women’s wing, student’s wing, minority’s wing, study’s circle and elites were all given a chance to become lawmakers in the upper house of the bicameral parliament of Pakistan. When compared to the nominations of the last Senate elections, all the nominated candidates are well known figures.
