SECP amends Companies Ordinance, 1984

ISLAMABAD: Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) introduced certain amendments in the Sixth Schedule to the Companies Ordinance, 1984 to facilitate the online submission of documents by companies to Company Registration Offices of SECP.

According to a notification issued here on Tuesday that necessary amendments were notified in the Sixth Schedule vide SRO No. 119(I)/2009 wherein a fee structure was prescribed for online submission of documents. The fee for online submission of documents has been prescribed much lower than the existing fee for physical submission.

The notification said that the purpose of the amendments is to facilitate the eServices users for online registration of companies and e-filing of returns. The services project was launched in August, 2008 and is now fully operational at the Commission, the notification added. To provide an on-line enabling environment, all functions of the COMPANY Registration Offices (CROs) of the commission have also been automated.-SANA
