Pakistan has dismantled the nuclear black market: Foreign Office

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office reiterated on Saturday that Pakistan has dismantled the nuclear black market network and no individual associated with it enjoys any official status nor has access to any strategic facility. “We have investigated the matter and shared relevant findings with the IAEA, which has appreciated our cooperation,” the foreign office spokesman Abdul Basit said.

In a statement, he said Pakistan remains committed to the objective of non-proliferation. “We have put in place necessary legislative, regulatory and administrative measures to ensure effective export controls and to prevent the possibility of proliferation from Pakistan.”As regards the court judgment of 06 February 2009, the Government remains committed to the due process of law,” the statement said.-SANA
