Zardari, Gilani vow to support Kashmiri freedom struggle

ISLAMABAD: The Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed on Thursday to highlight the Kashmir issue and express complete solidarity with Kashmiri people to achieve their right to self-determination. In their separate messages, the President and the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s un-wavering political, moral and diplomatic support to the just struggle of Kashmiri people.

President Asif Ali Zardari said Pakistan would continue to pursue the resolution of Kashmir dispute according to wishes of the Kashmiris. Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that the government and people of Pakistan would continue their unflinching support to the Kashmiris until their struggle is crowned with success.

The Day dawned with special prayers for those, who sacrificed their lives to the Kashmir cause. One minute silence was observed at ten in the morning as expression of solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir.
Various educational religious political and non-governmental organizations held rallies and functions across the country to mark the day.-SANA
