Pak remains main focus in Davos: Gilani

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that Pakistan remained the main focus in the World Economic Forum. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said that its sidelines meetings where the world leaders appreciated Pakistan’s steps to address the menace of terrorism and to bring out our country out of economic crisis.

The Prime Minister said that it was a great opportunity for Pakistan to represent and apprise the world leaders including leading businessmen and heads of government and states about our point of view and we succeeded to develop consensus on major issues.

He said that he had interaction with three main forums including the founder of World Economic Forum Dr. Shah, a reception by the Russian Prime Minister Vladir Putin and the third was by former US President Bill Clinton.

He said in these forums he gave a detailed representation about Pakistan position on war on terror and economic situation. He said that he explained the strategy adopted by Pakistan to root out the terrorism from FATA and Swat. He said Pakistan is persuading a three-D strategy including Political Dialogue, Development and Deterrence. He said that deterrence would be used as last option as the army action is not a permanent solution.-SANA
