ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari said India has not yet replied to peace calls of Pakistan. President Zardari said his country would reply on every positive call of India to bring peace in the region. This he said while talking to US Ambassador to Pakistan, Anne W. Patterson who called on him at the Presidency.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani was also present during the meeting of US ambassador with President Zardari. He said that Pak -Indo tension should be resolved through dialogue. On this occasion, Anne Patterson said that the US was in constant contact with Indian and Pakistani leadership and it supported dialogue process to defuse tension between two countries.
According to Presidency press release, matters relating to terrorism and regional situation were also discussed in the meeting. According to the sources, the US envoy hailed steps taken by Pakistan to de-escalate Indo-Pak tension and said that cooperation with Pakistan in war against terror would be enhanced.
President Zardari told Patterson about Pakistan efforts and repeated offers of cooperation with India in Mumbai attacks investigation. The president said that the US should enhance cooperation with Pakistan in energy sector to address energy crisis in the county.-SANA
