Kazmi for Ulema, Mashaikh to support govt

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi has said that the Government is establishing contacts with religious circles of the country to convene Ulema and Mashaikh Convention in the last week of January, 2009.

In a statement issued here today, Syed Hamid Kazmi said that Ulema, Mashaikh and religious scholars during their meetings have assured him of their full support and cooperation on the policies of the government. He said that it is the top priority of the Federal and all the Provincial governments to maintain law and order situation during the Holy Month of Muharram Harram in the country.

The Federal Minister said that all the Ulema have assured their full support and cooperation in this regard. Meanwhile, Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi called on Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani today.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister gave approval of Rs. 10,00,000/- for the construction of Press Club in Liaqatpur Tehsil of District Rahim Yar Khan. He further said that the Prime Minister also assured him of his kind cooperation to provide Sui gas, electricity and develop his constituency NA-192 in Liaqatpur Tehsil.-SANA
