No one to be allowed to use Pak soil for terrorist activities: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that Pakistan is a peaceful and responsible nuclear state and is member of OIC, SAARC and it is in the interest of our country to keep good relations with its neighboring countries.

Talking to newsmen in Islamabad on Monday after the inauguration of National University of Sciences and Technology, he said Pakistan does not want war. To a question, the Prime Minister made it clear that he has already assured Pakistan’s full cooperation to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for investigation into the Mumbai attacks if they provide solid proof.

He said reduction in Pakistan-India tension proves that Pakistan enjoys a prominent place in the comity of nations and impression about its isolation is not correct. He thanked all the friendly countries that played key role in reducing tension between the two countries.

To a question about the situation on the western borders, the Prime Minister said we don’t want that our soil be used for terrorism and any one gets opportunity to violate Pakistan’s ground or airspace in the name of terrorism.

He said the tribal people are more patriots and loving Pakistan and they took part in the making of Pakistan. He said they are protecting our borders. However, he made it clear that those who challenge the writ of the government and should create alternate system would not be allowed to do so. He said it was Pakistan’s earnest desire that peace should prevail in Afghanistan and 3.5 million Afghan Refugees should return to their homeland.-SANA
