PESHAWAR: NWFP Senior Minister and Parliamentary Leader of ANP Bashir Ahmad Bilour vowed that annexation of tribal belt with settled areas of the province is need of the hour to wipe out the tribal areas from criminal elements and foreign agents.
He was talking to a delegation of local traders community at his office Peshawar on Monday that apprised the Senior Minister of their certain problems, demands and proposals including the abduction for ransom, issuance of Kalashnikovs permits to the traders and streamlining the police-citizen liaison committees for ensuring law and order in the provincial metropolis. He said:
“The present status of the FATA is also causing difficulties not only for the tribal people and the province but the entire country”
Bashir Bilour while giving assurance for proper solution of the grievances of the delegations, regretted that almost all the incidents of abduction, car lifting and even terrorist acts in Peshawar and other parts of the province and even in the country were linked to tribal areas so much so that children and ladies were also being abducted for ransom.
He said that such heinous crimes were never allowed in Islam or any other religion of the world. Hence he said the present government would check all such acts of crimes at every cost to make Peshawar and all other parts of the country cradle of peace.
However, he underlined the need of mass awareness and sincere cooperation of the centre in this regard. The Senior Minister said that the federal government must realize the fact that some handful of criminal elements and miscreants have converted the tribal areas into the centre of crimes and made the lives of over 30 lakh loyal tribal and that of the entire nation miserable.
He said that the only best option and solution of this issue was making all the tribal areas including FATA and FRs as essential part of Pukhtunkhwa province as he said that all the tribal people were directly and indirectly linked to this province with all their interests.
Bilour said such historical steps would also pave way for boosting the local as well as the national trade and industry in the long run. He made clear that we as a nation had to settle all our problems and crisis but ourselves and no others from the outside would come to our rescue in this regard.
He said that in the recent global economic crisis, the developed countries including USA gave trillions of dollars of financial packages to its banks and institutions but did not bother to fulfill our need of only four billion dollars despite rendering tremendous sacrifices of human lives and properties in fight against the terror and playing front role for such purpose.
Bashir Bilour also issued necessary instructions to concerned high ups on some of the problems and demands of the delegation including vitalizing Citizen Liaison Committees and arms licenses for the traders.
The members of the delegation thanked the Senior Minister for his keen interest in solving their grievances as well as assured all out support and cooperation in implementing the policies of the provincial government including maintenance of law and order and developmental process.-SANA
