Gilani urges Obama to play role to resolve K-issue

ISLAMABAD: Chairman All Parties Hurryat Conference Syed Ali Geelani has urged the US-elect President Barack Obama to help resolve the Kashmir issue by implementing the UN resolutions on Kashmir. In a statement, Geelani said until the Kashmir problem is solved according to Kashmiris’ aspirations peace can not be restored in the region and relations between Pakistan and India could not be normalized.

He said it is the responsibility of the whole world and especially the UNO to implement the resolutions passed regarding the Kashmir issue so that India could be forced to solve the Kashmir problem according to the UNO resolutions.

He said terrorists are those people who kill innocent people and those who fight for the right of self determination could not be called terrorists and no law of the world declare them as terrorists. Syed Ali Geelani said that Indo-Pak dialogue has been continuing since 1952 but it could not become fruitful to solve the problem.-SANA
