ISLAMABAD: China’s Ambassador to Pakistan Luo Zhaohui has said there is no possibility of war between India and Pakistan. Talking to media after a ceremony held at the meteorological office for supplying weather forecast equipments to Pakistan on Saturday, Chinese envoy said both countries should resolve their differences peacefully.
Zhaohui pointed out that Pakistan and China enjoyed cordial relations and there were number of agreements on development projects being implemented. Speaking at the occasion, Secretary Defence, Lieutenant (Rtd) General Syed Athar Ali said Pakistan was at the forefront on the war against terror and committed to it. He emphasized that his country needed global assistance to improve its ability and performance on the war against terror.
While HE Mr. Luo Zhaohui, Ambassador of Peoples Republic of China called on General Tariq Majid, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
During the meeting, the two sides discussed post Mumbai evolving security environment in the region and forthcoming visit of the CJCSC to China.
While discussing the regional security environment, General Tariq reiterated Pakistan’s strong desire to maintain peace and stability in the region and dispelled the undue apprehensions being aired by some quarters in the western countries about the safety of strategic assets of Pakistan.
He said that we have an effective command authority and foolproof custodial controls and that security of our assets will be ensured at all costs. Chairman JCSC also thanked the people and Government of China for its political, economic and defence support for Pakistan.-SANA
