Pak team to take part in World U19 badminton championship

Lahore: Pakistan Badminton Federation on Monday announced a six-member party to take part in World U19 badminton championship being held in Pune, India from October 24 to November 2. Prior to participation in the World Championship the players will receive coaching at Hyderabad- India for two weeks under Asian coaches, said Aamir Hayat Khan Rokhari, Secretary, PBF here. The players are Ali Murad, Arslan Khan, Muhammad Irfan Bhatti, Taimur Arab and Awais Zahid. Muhammad Naeem is accompaning the team as coach.

This is the second time that Under-19 players are receiving coaching. Boarding & Lodging and Coaching arrangements all paid by Asian Badminton Confederation through the efforts of Syed Naqi Mohsin, Senior Vice President of Pakistan Badminton Federation, who is also Vice president of Asian Badminton Confederation. Previously the players received three weeks coaching in Malaysia prior to participation in Asian Under-19 Championship in July 2008. APP
