GUJRANWALA: In connection to Marriot hotel blast that left at least 60 dead and 250 injured, five suspected terrorists were arrested in separate raids late on Sunday night. A private TV channel reported that the two suspected persons were apprehended in Gujranwala.
It was reported that one of the men was the Imam Qari of a local mosque, while the other allegedly belonged to al-Qaeda and was also involved in the assassination bid on former president Pervez Musharraf’s life.
Three other suspected terrorists were arrested from a Kharian District mosque located between Lahore and Islamabad. Kharian, also called ‘Kharian Cantt’, is a prominent garrison town housing one of the largest army bases in the country.-SANA
