ISLAMABAD: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir wing on Thursday staged sit-in in the front of UN office as a protest against economical blockade of Muslims in Kashmir Valley here. On this occasion Convener APHC Syed Yousuf Naseem submitted a memorandum in the name of Secretary General UN here. It was said that India always tried to suppress the voice of Kashmiris for the freedom by force and thousands of people were put into jail for last 20 years.
The memorandum said that more than one lac people were killed and thousands of Kashmiris were tortured during the freedom movement. The memorandum demanded immediate release of Hurriyat leaders including Shabir Shah and Aasia Indrabi. It also urged UN to play a role to resolve Kashmir issue according to the people aspirations as it was promised in UN resolution. The sit-in protest was led by Convener Syed Yousuf Naseem.-SANA
