Govt welcomes PML-Q’s suggestions regarding charge sheet: Sherry

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Sherry Rehman has said the alliance would welcome any information from Pakistan Muslim League-Quid-e-Azam (PML-Q) to further strengthen the charge sheet against Pervez Musharraf. Talking to media here on Wednesday she said the coalition partners have worked out charge sheet against the President adding it is a difficult time but expressed the confidence that the ruling alliance would be successful to impeach the President as it has sufficient votes to do so.

Sherry Rehman said as the coalition government has sufficient members for voting it would also welcome those from PML (Q), other parties and independents to vote in favour of the motion. She however, added that they would never go for horse trading.

She told questioners that thirty three members of the Punjab Assembly belonging to PML (Q) have formed a forward block to vote in favour of impeachment motion and termed it as their fundamental right because there is no compulsion on any member to vote for his party in case of impeachment. Important to note is The member Punjab Assembly belonging to PML (Q) forward bloc Ata Muhammd Maneka has said that he himself and thirty four other members of provincial Assembly belonging to PML (Q) will support the resolution regarding the impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf.

He said the decision supporting the impeachment move was made by the forward block due to gross violation of constitution besides financial irregularities of President. He apologized to the nation for supporting Pervez Musharraf in the past and said that they will wholeheartedly support PML (N) and PPP for their move to impeach the President.

Earlier Regarding the position of Makhdoom Amin Fahim Ms. Sherry said it is unimaginable that the man who has fought always against dictatorship how could he favour Pervez Musharraf in the impeachment process.-SANA
