Makhdoom Jamil resigns from Sindh Cabinet

KARACHI: Makhdoom Amin Fahim’s son Makhdoom Jamil-ul-Zaman has resigned from the provincial ministry on Sunday. Makhdoom Jamil was a provincial minister in Sindh Cabinet and was not seen in the country for some time now. Sindh Chief Minister, when asked by the media about his whereabouts, said that he was outside the country and was on leave.

Makhdoom Jamil has sent his resignation through fax from Dubai to the Sindh Chief Minister. According to the sources, Makhdoom’s Jamil resignation was sent as a reaction of his father’s anger over party leadership. According to source he has been contacted to take his resignation back. Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said, “He is our cabinet member and if we come in contact with him we will ask him to rush back home and participate in Tuesday’s assembly proceedings when a resolution will be moved to call upon the president to take a vote of confidence in accordance with a commitment made to the Supreme Court on his behalf by the attorney general that President Musharraf would seek a vote of confidence from the newly elected assemblies.|

Makhdoom Amin Fahim has said that this time is not right for considering any impeachment rather to save country is more important than any thing. “Once Pakistan is steered out of the crisis, the president could be impeached 10 times,” he added. According to sources, Mr Fahim would proceed to London from Dubai because he did not wish to be in Pakistan during the impeachment proceedings to avoid being blamed if the coalition’s move failed.
