ISLAMABAD: Federal Advisor for Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik Thursday said the security forces had seized not only arms and explosives but also poisonous injections in raids carried out in Hangu. Addressing a press conference here, the Advisor said only certain points are being targeted on the basis of intelligence instead of haphazard bombardment. The aim of this is to minimize collateral damage, he added. He said the militants while fleeing from the area upon the arrival of troops had taken some of the security personnel hostage. Action will be taken against them, he added. Rehman Malik described the arrest of accused Rafiuddin who was wanted to police and four other militants as important development.
Security forces besieged an important centre of militants in the Dawaaba area and search operation is continuing. The administration has asked the people to stay at home. SSP Hangu has said that militants have lifted the siege of Dawaaba Police Station and the situation is completely under control. A meeting of Ulema was held to review the situation. The people of the area have expressed satisfaction over the arrest of militants.
