KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that Pakistan had suffered more than any other country from terrorism and Islamabad would fight the menace with an “iron fist”. In a keynote speech to the D8 group summit here, Gilani said that the world was currently facing the menace of extremism and terrorism which has affected the global socioeconomic development.
He said that Pakistan has suffered the most due to this scourge and it will continue the fight against terrorism and extremism till rooting out this menace. However, such cowardly acts will never dampen our firm resolve to fight terrorism and extremism with iron fist, he said.
Gilani said that Pakistan was committed to a peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict with India over occupied Kashmir and composite dialogue is underway between the two countries. “We are seeking a peaceful resolution for all our outstanding issues including the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.”-SANA
