MOHMAND AGENCY: A delegation of tribal elders has been formed to hold talks with pro-Taliban group for the release of two abducted journalists here on Saturday. The local Taliban detained freelance reporter Pir Zubair Shah and photographer Akhtar Soomro in Ziarat village, in the Mohmand region late on Thursday.
Adviser to prime minister on interior Rehman Malik has directed the local administration to take steps for the early recovery of the kidnapped journalists. Political administration of the area has sent the delegation of tribal elders which is holding talks with kidnappers. “We’re doing our best. We’ve sent a delegation of tribal elders to the kidnappers to get them released,” said the official, who denied to be identified.-SANA
