Kurram Agency: 44 abducted FC men released

KURRAM AGENCY: Suspected tribesmen in Kurram Agency released 44 abducted Frontier Cops (FC) officials after the jirga held successful negotiations. Kurram Agency’s political agent Mohammad Azam Khan told private news channel that tribesmen in the area of Pewar made 44 FC men hostage and for their release, a 25-member jirga was sent to the tribes. After the successful late night negotiations of the jirga with them, 44 FC soldiers were released and handed over to the jirga and the political officials.

Along with these 44 other 11 personnel of Khyber Force were released unconditionally on Tuesday. Sources of political administration of Kurram Agency said that release of the 44 FC personnel, who were kidnapped Monday, became possible after successful negotiations between the local Jirga and the kidnappers. Meanwhile, 11 personnel of Khasadar Force, Khyber Agency were also released in Jamrud area of the agency. They were kidnapped few days back. On the other hand, operation against miscreants is going-on in Bara Tehsil of Khyber Agency. Bara Bazar remained open on Tuesday and people are doing their business as usual.-SANA
