SC adjourns Nawaz disqualification case hearing for two weeks

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court here adjourned for two weeks the hearing of the petition filed by the Federation against the election ineligibility of Muslim League-N Quaid, Mian Nawaz Sharif. During SC brief hearing, one objector, Khurram Shah’s lawyer Ahmad Raza Kasuri raised this objection that the Federation has no authority to file petition on Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification.

Following the hearing, Deputy Attorney General, Raja Rahman told media that he has counseled SC for giving primacy to the people’s opinion in matters of Nawaz Sharif. He said that he viewed Nawaz Sharif eligible for contesting by-election and added that Nawaz Sharif ineligibility case was not only the issue of ineligibility, but a matter of legal clarification as to whether High Court could give decision on it or not.-SANA
