ISLAMABAD: A two-day workshop on “Judicial Good Governance” for district and sessions judges belonging to all the four provinces will start here at the Federal Judicial Academy ( FJA) Islamabad, Friday. The Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights (Access to Justice Program) and Federal Judicial Academy jointly organizing this workshop for two days (Friday and Saturday, June 27-28,2008) in which the senior most district and sessions judges of the country are participating to benefit from the knowledge, insight, information and judicial wisdom of the Honorable speakers/ resources persons.
The workshop is reflective of the keen interest and rare guidance of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar who is also chairman Board of Governors of the FJA, for promoting professional excellence and judicial good governance at the district judiciary level so as to provide speedy and inexpensive justice to the justice seekers, said Hashim Abro, spokesman of the FJA.
The first day(three sessions) speakers are Hon’ble Mr. Justice Chaudhry Ijaz Yousaf to speak on “Judicial Administration in Islam”, Mr. Justice Syed Afzal Haider, Judge, Federal Shariat Court, on “Self management”, Prof. Javed Iqbal on “Judicial Good Governance in the context of AJP’ and Moazzam Hayat DG, FJA on “Role and Responsibility of Institutions in Post Colonial Democratic Reform” and Mr. Muhammad Afzal Khaut, Program Director, Access to Justice Program ( AJP), on the “AJP and aims and objectives of the workshop’. Hon’ble Mr. Justice ( Retd) Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi will give his concluding remarks the first day of the two-days workshop , said Hashim Abro on Thursday.-SANA
